Chimp tracking, Golden Monkey tracking and tracking Gorillas twice, this tour is certainly for those primate lovers out there. As well as all the primates you'll get to go on a safari in queen, take in the breathtaking landscapes of these two magical countries, and learn about Rwanda's tragic past and its remarkable recovery since.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your guide, briefed about your upcoming journey and transferred to your lodge. We feel it's best to stay in Entebbe after your flight, the last thing you want to do after a long flight is go on another long car journey. This boutique lodge less than 10 minutes from the airport is the perfect place to relax. If you arrive early there are many excursions available in Entebbe, for instance taking a boat ride to chimp Island, or to the marshes to see the famed Shoebill Stork, or even spend the day relaxing on Entebbe's calm beaches, get in touch to learn more about what there is to do in Entebbe.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale
After your breakfast at Boma, you will spend the day transferring to the national park rich western Uganda, starting with Kibale Forest National Park, stopping on the way for lunch. You should arrive in the afternoon to take in the natural beauty of this area.

Day 3: Chimp Tracking
Today you get the chance to get up close and personal with man's closest relative, the Chimpanzee. These special Apes are a joy to watch as they go about their daily lives, squabbling and playing in the fruit trees. Upon sighting the Chimps, you will stay with them for one hour. In the afternoon, you have the optional extra of going for a nature walk round the Bigodi swamp, where there are many rare and exciting birds as well as other primate species.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning you will take the 2hour 30min drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will check in at your lodge, then go for an afternoon game drive where you can marvel at the magnificent game on offer in Queen, including 4 of the 'Big 5', many other big game animals and the vast array of birds that live within the park.

Day 5: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari
Head out on an early morning game drive, before heading back to your lodge for a nice lunch. In the afternoon, you will enjoy one of Uganda's great wildlife experiences, the Kazinga Channel boat cruise, where you can see a vast array of wildlife playing and taking a water break along the shore.

Day 6: Game Drive and Bwindi
Grab a packed lunch from your lodge and spend the day winding south through Queen, where you will get the chance to see the tree climbing lions that have made this national park so famous. Your eventual destination is Bwindi Impenetrable park, you should arrive in the evening just in time to take in the breathtaking views of the mountains and the dense forest.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking Number 1
After an early breakfast you will set off towards what will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your safari, the unforgettable experience that is Mountain Gorilla tracking. After trekking through the dense forest to where the Gorillas were found the day before, you begin your tracking, searching for the largest primate in the world. Upon sighting them, you will stay with them for one hour as they eat, rest and bond with their young. To reach them it can take anywhere between 30 mins to 4 hours, so be prepared for a long trek through the humid rain-forest. Afterwards you will spend the afternoon relaxing and taking in your beautiful surroundings.

Day 8: Lake Mutanda
Today you will head over to Lake Mutanda, near the Rwandan border. The views here are incredible, of the island studded lake and the magnificent Virunga Volcanoes not too far away, which make it the perfect place to relax after your Gorilla tracking.

Day 9: Rwanda
After spending the morning relaxing at your lodge in your beautiful surrounding, you will make the border crossing to Rwanda and to Volcano's National Park. The crossing can take anywhere from 20 mins to 2 hours, so it is best to allow plenty of time for this.

Day 10: Gorilla Tracking Number 2
Sometimes Gorilla tracking once just isn't enough, so why not go a second time? This time you will track in the famous Volcanoes National Park, again staying with these magnificent beasts for one magical hour, getting so close you can almost touch them.

Day 11: Golden Monkeys and Kigali
Golden Monkeys are rare and endemic to this region, living in the bamboo areas found at the base of the volcanoes themselves. Playful and inquisitive, these monkeys are a pleasure to watch. There are two troops of Golden Monkey you can track both numbering around 80. Afterwards, transfer to the Rwandan capital Kigali, were your guide will be able to recommend one of the many great restaurants for your dinner.

Day 12: Kigali
In the morning you will go to the extremely moving genocide memorial, were you will learn about Rwanda's tragic past. The recovery since, with the help of international aid has been remarkable. You will then be dropped off at the airport for your flight home, if your flight is in the morning then it may be possible to squeeze a visit to the genocide memorial in the day before.
